Sudoku is a game of logic based on the positioning of the figures from 1 to 9 inside of special puzzles. The objective of
Sudoku is to fill up a puzzle composed of 81 cells, arranged on 9 lines and 9 columns, in such way that each column, each
line and each of the nine 3x3 blocks of cells contains all the digits from 1 to 9 one single time and without repetitions (in
other words, 1 must appear one time only on each row of the Sudoku puzzle, one time only on each column and one time only on each of the nine
regions evidenced in bold; the same for all the other figures).
Selecting the option "Free Sudoku", you will be given a Sudoku puzzle to be completed, without any aid: in other words, like all those
which can be found on the many Sudoku magazines. With the option "Assisted Sudoku", instead, every cell of the puzzle is filled
only with the numbers which can be correct in that cell: in practice, the program eliminates directly the digits already
present in the row, column and 3x3 block of the Sudoku puzzle to which that specific cell belongs. This allows you to skip the starting phase, a bit
boring, of the Sudoku puzzle, letting you focus on the logical effort needed to solve the puzzle.
The level of difficulty of Sudoku puzzles does not primarily depend on the number of figures
provided, as on their positioning on the grid. The low level Sudoku puzzles are intended for beginners, solvable by eliminating the
possible figures in each cell, by means of rather elementary logical steps. The medium level Sudoku puzzles require in plus a "what
if" approach, but on a very limited number of cells. The high difficulty Sudoku puzzles require the same "what if" approach on a
greater number of cells. None of the Sudoku puzzles is however of extreme complexity, aiming this site to be a site "for all".
